Metro’s Friday PM Commute: There are no major transit delays due to traffic; weekend holiday schedules, events & possible snow and ice

Holiday Schedules
Metro Transit service will operate on revised schedules, and will be affected by holiday weekend events.

Holiday Weekend Event
On Saturday, December 31, the New Year’s Eve at the Needle celebration at Seattle Center will result in expected large crowds and significant traffic slowdowns. Be prepared for possible delays, crowded buses and cold weather.

If streets are blocked or closed during this event, there may be unexpected temporary reroutes to transit service.  If necessary, go to bus stops away from Seattle Center to find bus service

Possible weekend snow or ice
During the New Year’s holiday weekend, transit service in King County may be affected by snow or ice.

If Metro service is significantly affected by snow or other weather-related events, the Metro Online website will be updated and Transit Alerts will be sent to affected subscribers.

Reduced weekday schedules
From Tuesday, December 27 through Friday, December 30, reduced weekday schedules are in effect during the end-of-year holiday week.  On days with reduced weekday schedules, some commuter, UW and school-oriented routes do not operate, and other routes have individual trips canceled. Details are in timetables and posted on Metro’s holiday and reduced service page.

Metro offices, including the Customer Information center, Lost and Found and Pass Sales counters, will be closed on December 26, 2016 and January 2, 2017.
