Transit service delays are subsiding as traffic clears on I-5, SR-520 & I-90; weekend events may impact transit service

Please note the information below about service advisories and alerts due to known events in Metro’s service area.

Construction reroutes –

2-week Alaskan Way Viaduct closure

  • Transit service is rerouted for about two weeks during a full closure of the Alaskan Way Viaduct;
  • Metro bus routes 21E, 37, 55, 56, 57, 113, 120, 121, 122, 123, 125 & the RapidRide C Line are rerouted.
  • Get ready!  Metro has travel options & tips that may help;
  • All traffic that normally uses the Viaduct is rerouted into adjacent corridors;
  • All commuters should expect possible significant delays & allow extra time;
  • Plan or revise your commute accordingly.

Events –

Mariners Home Stand thru May 1

  • Friday & Saturday, 4/29-30 at 7:10 PM;
  • Sunday, 5/1 at 1:10 PM;
  • Ride regularly scheduled Transit service to & from games.
  • Expect traffic congestion & possible Transit delays before and after games on routes that serve SODO, Pioneer Square & the DSTT.
  • Fans can use area park & ride lots and are reminded to plan their return trips.
  • SODO-area Transit service will operate via regular routes & stops.

Expect possible transit service impacts this weekend due to construction, events and May Day activities

All transit riders in the greater Seattle and King County area are advised to expect possible significant weekend transit service disruptions due to traffic, crowds and congestion associated with sporting events, the closure of the Alaskan Way viaduct, and May Day activities.

Transit riders are advised that service or schedule impacts in one part of Metro’s service area may result in related delays in others.

Transit customers are encouraged to sign up for Transit Alerts for the routes they use, and to visit Metro’s desktop, mobile, Android or iOS apps for scheduled and predicted times at stops, transit maps, trip planning, bus tracking and service disruption notifications.

Transit service delays continue for buses heading into Seattle via southbound I-5 from N 145th St; northbound from S Albro Pl and westbound across the Lake Washington bridges, due to traffic congestion.
