Metro’s Monday PM commute wrap-up, plus upcoming events that may impact service

Metro’s Monday evening commute is winding down with no significant delays or disruptions in transit service to report.

Please note the information below about upcoming events
in Metro’s service area.

Sounders FC match vs Monterrey

  • CenturyLink Field – Tuesday, October 18 starting at 7:00 PM
  • Ride transit to stadium events, regular fares apply.
  • Although no Metro or Metro operated Sound Transit service is rerouted because of this event, expect possible delays due to traffic in the SODO, Stadium, Pioneer Square & downtown Seattle areas.

Alaskan Way Viaduct to be closed for 9 Days

From Friday evening, October 21 at 7:00 PM through the end of service on Sunday, October 31, Metro bus routes 21 Express, 37 southbound, 54, 54 Express, 55, 56 Express, 113, 120, 121, 122, and 125 will be rerouted off of the Alaskan Way Viaduct due to construction.

During the closure, the buses will travel via Fourth Avenue South in the SODO area and Third Avenue in downtown Seattle.

Bus stops on Columbia and Seneca streets at Second Avenue will be temporarily closed during this time.

Both northbound and southbound buses will stop on Fourth Avenue South at South Lander Street in SODO for convenient transfers to Link light rail and other bus routes.

Northbound buses will also stop on Fourth Avenue South at the South Jackson Street island stop; and southbound buses will not make any stops between Third Avenue at Columbia Street and Fourth Avenue South at South Lander Street.

Traffic congestion on the north end of the viaduct is also likely to cause delays for Metro bus routes 5, 15, 16, 18, 26 Express, 28 Express and 358.

Metro’s Monday morning commute is winding down with westbound Pine St being reopened.  All routes back to using regular route and stops.

Please note the information below about upcoming events
in Metro’s service area.

Update: Westbound Pine St is currently closed between 5 Av & 4 Av for a couple of hours

Rts 7, 10, 11, 12, 14, 43 & 49 – are currently rerouted off of  Pine street.  Use the stop westbound on Pine St east of 7th Av.
