Metro’s Monday PM commute wrap up; blockage cleared at 3 Av & James St, plus upcoming construction and events that may impact service

Metro’s Monday evening commute is winding down with all routes returning to normal operation at 3 Av & James St.   The earlier blockage has been cleared.

Routes 21 Express, 37 southbound, 54, 54 Express, 55, 56 Express, 113, 120, 121, 122 and 125 have returned to their regular routing using the new viaduct bypass in SODO.  The temporary stops at 4 Av S & S Lander Stand 4 Av S & S Jackson StIslandwill no longer be served.  Expect some delays in service due to narrow lanes and lower speed limits on the bypass and please be aware that bus times on these routes may be longer than before the viaduct was demolished.

Southbound 3rd Av & James St is currently blocked due to an incident.   All routes use the stops north of Union St.

Metro’s Friday afternoon commute is winding down, plus the Alaskan Way Viaduct is closed, plus Upcoming events

Metro’s Friday afternoon commute is winding down. Traffic has been slow all afternoon due to weather and constructions projects. Delays in service are starting to subside but may linger longer than usual.  On 1 Av S and 4 Av S in the SODO district there is heavy traffic due to the closure of the Alaskan Way Viaduct. Be prepared for possible delays.

The viaduct will re-open to traffic one day earlier than announced! On Sunday morning, October 30, Routes 21 Express, 37 southbound, 54, 54 Express, 55, 56 Express, 113, 120, 121, 122 and 125 will return to their regular routing using the new viaduct bypass in SODO. The temporary stops at 4 Av S & S Lander Street and 4 Av And Jackson St Island will no longer be served.  Expect some delays in service on the bypass due to narrow lanes and lower speed limits and please be aware that bus times may be longer before the viaduct was demolished.

  • Monday, October 31 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM
  • Metro bus route 118 will be rerouted in the Vashon area due to this event.

Bothell Safe Halloween

  • Monday, October 31 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM
  • Sound Transit route 522 will be rerouted in the Bothell area due to this event.

The West Seattle Water Taxi service has been suspended due to mechanical problem, October 28

The King County Water Taxi West Seattle service has been suspended until the 7:45 pm sailing from Pier 50 due to a mechanical problem to the Rachel Marie.  The Melissa Ann will continue tonight’s extended sailing schedule and the West Seattle weekend schedule.  No furthur service interruption is expected.
