Metro’s Thursday AM commute has ended, Route 249 continues to be rerouted off of NE 40 St in the Overlake area; plus upcoming events that may impact service

Metro’s  Thursday morning commute is winding down with with Route 249 currently rerouted off of NE 40th St between  156th Av NE & West Lake Sammamish Prkwy NE in both directions due to a motor vehicle accident.

Use the stops northbound on 156th Av NE at NE 40th St or southbound on Lake Sammamish Prkwy NE south of NE 40th St.

Expected to last over the next few hours.

Event – Mariners game tonight, Thursday, June 14 at 7:10 PM

  • Wednesday, June 13 through Saturday, June 16 at 7:10 PM each night & Sunday, June 17  at 1:10 PM.
  • There is no post-game premium or special service;
  • Ride regularly scheduled transit service to & from games;
  • Lots of transit service goes near Safeco Field.
  • SODO-area transit service will operate via regular routes & stops
    and there are no post-game reroutes;
  • There is no longer any transit service on 1st Av S north of S Lander St;
  • Expect traffic & possible transit delays both pre & post game on routes that serve SODO & Pioneer Square, including DSTT routes.

Construction – 1st  Av S off ramp at S Spokane St is closed

  • Through Friday, June 15 at 5 AM.
  • Routes 21, 22, 35, 56, 57, 85 Night Owl, 116, 118 & 119 are rerouted.
  • At all times during the closure.

Construction – Colman Dock bus stop revision

  • Until further notice.
  • Rt 16 is not serving the ferry terminal.  It is instead traveling via 1st Av S.  Use the temporary stop southbound on 1st Av S just south ofMarion St.
  • Rt 66 is serving a new combined bus island on the Alaskan Way roadway between Marion & Columbia streets across from the ferry terminal.
  • Rt 99 stops north of Colman Dock at Pike St.

RapidRide C Line construction at Fauntleroy ferry dock

  • Through the middle of June.
  • Expect possible service delays on Routes 54, 116, 118, 119 & ST 560.

Sounders FC Game on Saturday, May 14; Plus West Seattle Water Taxi Offers Extra Sailings For Sounders Fans; Plus Mariners Game on Monday, May 16

Sounders Game on Saturday, May 14, 8:00 PM at Qwest Field
There are no special shuttle service to Sounders FC games due to low demand.
Metro offers over 15 daily bus routes that stop within three blocks of Qwest Field.
Metro Transit bus service is also available throughout the area with expanded
service from Northgate, Eastgate, South Kirkland, Federal way, Renton & Kent.

West Seattle Water Taxi offers extra sailings Saturday for Sounders fans
The King County Water Taxi West Seattle-downtown Seattle route will offer extra late-evening trips on Saturday, May 14 to accommodate soccer fans returning from the Sounders FC game. The schedule for the late Saturday trips follows:

10:30 p.m. – departure from Seattle (regular trip)
10:45 p.m. – departure from Seacrest
11:00 p.m. – departure from Seattle
11:15 p.m. – departure from Seacrest

Mariners Game on, Monday, May 16, 7:10 PM at Safeco Field
Traffic in the SODO, Stadium, Pioneer Square & downtown Seattle areas may be congested on game days.

King County Metro Transit and its regional transit partners can get Ms fans to and from points near Safeco Field via transit-priority routes that are not shared by general purpose
traffic – the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel (DSTT), the SODO Busway and the Link light rail corridor – making transit a great option for getting to and from games.

Fans should use regularly published schedules and expect possible delays when traffic is heavy. Regular fares apply.

Routes 15, 18, 21, 56 & 132 are rerouted off of 1st Av S in both directions between S Lander St and S Atlantic St /Edgar Martinez Dr S after weekday evening, weekend &
holiday games. The rerouted buses serve all posted stops along 4th Av S while on reroute.

8 p.m. that will loop through the UW campus to help students and staff
connect to regular Metro service on 15th Ave NE.

Metro will not provide special bus service to the game as it does on
