Metro’s Friday PM commute is continuing; Service delays can be expected on commuter routes due to reports of heavy traffic congestion plus more

Metro’s Friday PM commute is continuing with Transit service delays expected on commuter routes due to reports of heavy traffic congestion on the following corridors:

• Northbound I-5 from about Albro Pl to downtown Seattle, then again, on and off again from about SR-520 to the King/Snohomish County line;
• Southbound I-5 from about NE 175th St to I-90, then again from about I-405 to SR-516; then again from about S 320th St to the King/Pierce County line;
• Northbound I-405 from about Renton to Newcastle, then again from SR-520, off and again  to Woodinville;
• Southbound I-405 from Kirkland to Newcastle, then again from Renton to Tukwila;
• Southbound SR-167 from about Kent to SR-18;
• Westbound I-90 from about Mercer Island to Rainier Av S;
• Westbound SR-520 from about the East Highrise to the West Highrise.

Metro’s Wednesday PM commute has ended; Buses con’t to be rerouted off Pike St between 8th Av & Bellevue Av and other impacts on transit service

Metro’s Wednesday commute has ended. Routes 10, 11, 43, 47 & 49 continue to be rerouted off Pike St between 8th Av and Bellevue Av, due to an earlier incident on Pike St near Boren Av.

Until further notice, use stops on Pike St west of 8th Av, and depending on your route either on E Pine St east of Bellevue Av or on Bellevue Av north of E Pine St.

Please note the information below advising about construction activities and other events that may affect Transit operation in Metro’s service area.

Event – Mariners home stand

• Friday, 5/10 through Sunday, 5/12.
• On Friday at 7:10 PM; on Saturday at 6:10 PM; & on Sunday at 1:10 PM;
• Ride regularly scheduled Transit service to or near Safeco Field; there is no premium or special Transit service provided by Metro;
• Transit service operates via regular routes & stops in SODO area;
• Expect traffic & possible Transit delays before and after games on routes that serve SODO, Stadium, Pioneer Square & downtown Seattle area;
• Regular fares apply.

Event – Sounders FC  match

• Saturday, 5/11 at 1:00 PM
• Ride regularly scheduled Transit service to or near CenturyLink Field; there is no premium or special Transit service provided by Metro;
• Transit service operates via regular routes & stops in Stadium area;
• Expect traffic & possible Transit delays before and after games on routes that serve SODO, Stadium, Pioneer Square & downtown Seattle area;
• Regular fares apply.

Construction – On Blanchard St between 3rd and 7th avenues

• Through Monday, 5/20 at all times
• Metro routes 26, 28, 40 & 62 are rerouted.

Construction – On northbound Rainier Av S at SW Grady Way

• Through Friday, 6/7  at all times
• Metro routes 101, 102, 140, 167 & 169 are rerouted.

Construction – Northbound Westlake Av N is closed between
Mercer St & 9th Av N

• Through Wednesday, 7/31  at all times
• Metro routes 40 & 62 are rerouted.

Long-Term Bus Stop Closures – On Aurora Av N at Mercer St
and Thomas St

• Until further notice.
• The stops on northbound Aurora Av N at Thomas St and Mercer St, and
• Southbound Aurora Av N at Mercer St are closed due to the Mercer Corridor Project.
• Metro routes 5, 16, 26 Ex, 28 Ex & 358 are affected.

Due to construction and electrical work in the Pioneer Square area from Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM to Thursday morning at 6:00 AM, Metro’s Customer Information office telephone lines may experience service and connectivity disruptions overnight tonight.
