Metro’s Wednesday PM commute has ended; Ms game tonight, SR-520 drawspan opening 8/2 at 5 AM, plus other events that may impact transit

Metro’s Wednesday afternoon commute has ended with no significant delays or disruptions in transit service to report.

Mariners game tonight at 7:10 PM

  •  There is no premium or special Transit service to or from games.
  • Ride regularly scheduled Transit service to & from games.
  • Lots of Transit service goes near Safeco Field.
  • SODO-area Transit service will operate via regular routes & stops
    and there are no post-game reroutes.
  • There is no longer any transit service on 1st Av S north of S Lander St.
  • Expect traffic & possible Transit delays before and after games on routes that serve SODO, Pioneer Square & the DSTT.

Event – SR-520 drawspan opening tomorrow morning

  • Thursday, August 2
  • At approximately 5:00 AM.
  • The SR-520 Bridge will be closed for up to 30 minutes during this opening.  
  • The start and end times can change without notice.
  • Routes 255, 257 & ST 545 may be delayed.

Seafair Blue Angels & Hydroplane events

Metro will provide shuttle service between the Mercer Island and South Bellevue P&R lots during the Blue Angels events on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  The Shuttle will operate approximately every 30 minutes and
will connect riders to and from routes ST 550 and ST 554 at the South
Bellevue P&R.

Riders near I-90 and Rainier Av S can ride Metro Route 7 to and from downtown Seattle or wait for ST 550 and ST 554 to resume service.

The Shuttle will not operate on Sunday.

Ride Transit to Hydroplane Events
Streets will be blocked off near the hydroplane venue and parking is
extremely limited.  Attendees are encouraged to ride transit to and from
this event.

Metro Route 39 travels to within a short distance of the hydroplane venue,
but may be rerouted when traffic in the area is very congested.  Some
attendees may also be able to walk from the Route 7 on Rainier Av S, or
from Route 8, Route 14 or Central Link light rail at Mt Baker Station.

Additionally, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday Metro will provide free
shuttle service
between Othello Station and the hydroplane venue.  Ride
Metro routes 8, 36, 39 or Link to get to Othello Station.

Metro’s Wednesday PM commute continues as NB I-5 lanes open up at S Walker St, plus Routes 39, 101 & 150 return to regular route

Metro’s Wednesday afternoon commute continues with northbound
lanes of I-5 opening up at S Walker St.

Route 39 to Othello Station has returned to normal operation on
S Spokane St at 6th Av S.

Routes 101 and 150 to downtown Seattle return to regular route
on northbound I-5.

Service delays on Routes 21, 22, 56 & 124 to Seattle should subside
shortly as traffic congestion clears.

Metro’s Wednesday PM commute continues with a few NB I-5 lanes open at S Walker to relieve traffic backups but delays in Transit service persist

Metro’s Wednesday afternoon commute continues with a few northbound lanes of I-5 opening up at S Walker St, but delays in Transit service persist due to the heavy traffic congestion.

Route 39 to Othello Station will remain on reroute.  Use the stops on SODO Busway north of S Spokane St or on 15th Av S south of Beacon Av S.

Routes 101 and 150 to downtown Seattle will continue to travel via Airport Way S to Seattle.

Routes 21, 22, 56 & 124 to Seattle are also experiencing 20-25 service delays due to traffic congestion.

Metro’s Wednesday afternoon commute has begun with delays in Transit service due to a closure of all northbound lanes of I-5 at S Walker St due to a blockage. 

Route 39 to Othello Station is rerouted due to this closure.  Use the stops on SODO Busway north of S Spokane St or on 15th Av S south of Beacon Av S.
