Metro’s Friday PM commute has ended; plus weekend events that may impact transit service

Metro’s Friday evening commute is winding down with no significant delays or disruptions in transit service to report.

Construction – Anticipate possible delays due to
I-90 lane closures extended near Issaquah

Contractor crews removing an old, narrow fish culvert between eastbound
and westbound Interstate 90 east of Issaquah will extend lane closures on eastbound I-90.

At 6 AM Saturday, July 14, crews will close the left lane of eastbound I-90 through 3 PM, Friday, July 20.  Crews will reopen the lane for Friday afternoon travelers and will reclose the lane on Saturday, July 21, until Friday, July 27.

Eastbound N 85th St is closed between Greenwood & Aurora Avs N

Event – Enumclaw Street Fair

Event – Covington Days Parade

Event – DesMoines Waterland Parade

Event – Float Dodger 5K Run

Event – Olde Burien Block Party

Event – Vashon Strawberry Festival

Event – Chinatown Seafair Parade

Event – Swedish Summer Run

Event – White Center Jubilee Days Parade

Event – Mariners home stand

  • Monday, July 23 at 7:10 PM through Wednesday, August 1 at 7:10 PM.
  • Tuesday, July 24 at 7:10 PM, Wednesday, July 25 at 12:40 PM, Thursday, July 26 at 7:10 PM, Friday, July 27 at 7:10 PM, Saturday, July 28 at 1:10 PM, Sunday, July 29 at 1:10 PM, Monday, July 30 at 7:10 PM and Tuesday, July 31 at 7:10 PM.
  • There are no post-game premium or special service.
  • Ride regularly scheduled transit service to & from games.
  • Lots of transit service goes near Safeco Field.
  • SODO-area transit service will operate via regular routes & stops
    and there are no post-game reroutes.
  • There is no longer any transit service on 1st Av S north ofS Lander St.
  • Expect traffic & possible transit delays both pre & post game on routes that serve SODO & Pioneer Square, including DSTT routes.
