Metro’s Tuesday PM commute has ended; Ms are home, Transit on holiday service Independence Day plus other upcoming events may affect Transit service

Metro’s Tuesday afternoon commute is over, with no significant delays or disruptions in transit service to report.

Please note the information below about potential traffic impacts in Metro’s service area.

Event – Mariners home stand

  • Monday, July 2 & Tuesday, July 3 at 7:10 PM each night and Wednesday, July 4 at 1:10 PM.
  • There are no post-game premium or special service.
  • Ride regularly scheduled transit service to & from games.
  • Lots of transit service goes near Safeco Field.
  • SODO-area transit service will operate via regular routes & stops
    and there are no post-game reroutes.
  • There is no longer any transit service on 1st Av S north of S Lander St.
  • Expect traffic & possible transit delays both pre & post game on routes that serve SODO & Pioneer Square, including DSTT routes.

Independence Day observed Wednesday, July 4
In observance of Independence Day, King County Metro Transit will operate a Sunday schedule on Wednesday, July 4. 

  • Metro offices – including the Customer Information, pass sales and Lost & Found offices – will be closed on Wednesday.  Visit Metro’s online Regional Trip Planner to plan your transit trip.
  • If your bus does not normally operate on Sunday, it will not operate on Wednesday.
  • The West Seattle Water Taxi will operate a Sunday schedule on Independence Day, as will DART Shuttle routes 773 and 775.
  • The Vashon Island Water Taxi route will not operate on Wednesday.
  • On Independence Day, both the South Lake Union Streetcar & Link light rail will operate a Sunday schedule.

Event – Burien Cycling Criterium & 4th of July Parade

  • Wednesday,  July 4 - Start of service-6:30 PM
  • Routes 131, 132, 139, 140 & 180 will be rerouted.

Event – Federal Way’s Annual Red, White & Blue Festival

  • Wednesday,  July 4 - 8:00– 11:00 AM
  • DART Route 903 will be rerouted.

Event – Admiral Neighborhood Kids’ Parade

  • Wednesday, July 4 - 9:00–11:00 AM.
  • Route 55 will be rerouted.

Event – Issaquah Down Home 4th of July Festival & Parade

Event – Kirkland 4th of July Parade

Event – Bothell Freedom Festival

Event – Family 4th at Lake Union Fireworks At Gasworks Park

 Event – Symetra Bellevue Family 4th of July Celebration

Construction Extended–
Northbound SODO Busway at S Spokane St

  • Extended through Sunday, 7/15 – at all times.
  • The southbound SODO Busway is open.
  • Routes 39, 101, 102, 106, 150, 177, 178 & 190 are rerouted.

Construction –
Eastbound N 85th St is closed between Greenwood & Aurora Avs N
