Metro’s Thursday PM commute has ended; plus upcoming events that may impact transit

Good evening! Metro’s Thursday PM commute is winding down with no significant delays or disruptions in transit service to report.

Please note the information below about possible traffic impacts in Metro’s service area.

Construction – Eastbound SR-520 Ramp closed at Bellevue Way NE

  • Monday, June 4 - Friday morning, June 8.
  • 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM each night.
  • Routes 255  & 280 will be rerouted.

Event – Mariners home stand begins Friday, June 8, 7:10 PM

  • On Saturday, 6/9 @ 4:15 PM and on Sunday, 6/10 @ 1:10 PM
  • No premium service; regular service only.
  • No post-game reroutes or service along 1 Av S.
  • All service will be on regular route.
  • Lots of transit service goes near Safeco Field;
  • Expect high demand both pre & post game on routes that serve SODO & Pioneer Square, including Link & DSTT routes. There could be significant crowds at IDS, Stadium & SODO stations, as well as on SODO Busway, 4 Av S or near the stadium.

Event – University of Washington Commencement

Event – Auburn Farmers Market

Event – Shore Run Walk

Construction – 1 Av S off ramp at S Spokane St will be closed

  • Through Friday, June 15 at 5 AM.
  • Routes 21, 22, 35, 56, 57, 85 Night Owl, 116, 118 & 119 will be rerouted.
  • At all times during the closure.

Construction – Colman Dock bus stop revision

  • Until further notice.
  • Rt 16 is not serving the ferry terminal.  It is instead traveling via 1st Av S.  Use the temporary stop southbound on 1st Av S just south ofMarion St.
  • Rt 66 is serving a new combined bus island on the Alaskan Way roadway between Marion & Columbia streets across from the ferry terminal.
  • Rt 99 stops north of Colman Dock at Pike St.

RapidRide C Line construction at Fauntleroy ferry dock

  • Through the middle of June.
  • Expect possible service delays on Routes 54, 116, 118, 119 & ST 560.

UPDATE: Traffic Advisory – Earlier reports of heavy traffic congestion on southbound I-5 from NE 205th St to downtown Seattle is finally clearing up

As of 6:45 PM – Traffic congestion is finally clearing up on southbound I-5 from the King/Snohomish county line to downtown Seattle.

Metro service delays are expected to subside.

UPDATE: Traffic Advisory – right two lanes open on westbound I-90 near Richards Road; traffic congestion continues

As of 6:35 PM – The right two lanes are now open on westbound I-90 near Richards Road. Traffic congestion still continues to be heavy, but all lanes are moving.

Metro service delays are expected to subside.

Traffic Advisory – Heavy traffic congestion on westbound I-90 near Richards Rd due to blockage

As of 5:43 PM – Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on westbound I-90 near Richards Rd due to a incident blocking the right two lanes.

Metro service delays can be expected.
