Metro’s Tuesday PM commute report is ending. Transit service delays to downtown Seattle continue.

As of 7:00 PM – Metro’s Tuesday afternoon commute is ending. Due to the May Day rally and march, transit service has been impacted. All rerouted routes are expected to resume regular routing as conditions improve in the downtown Seattle core.

No more updates to Eye On Your Metro Commute will be published today. We will return at 6:00 AM on Wednesday to help report on transit service conditions as needed.

May Day Update | All 2th Ave routes are being rerouted between Spring St and James St

As of 6:40 PM – Routes that travel along 2nd Av are being rerouted eastbound on Spring St to 5th Av southbound to James St westbound to their regular routing. Board your bus north of Spring St or south  of James St. Expect delays.

May Day Update – Transit traffic on 1st Ave delayed | Transit traffic on 3rd Av between Spring St and Columbia St delayed

As of 6:40 – Transit routes that travel along 1st Av between Pike Stand Jackson St are experiencing delays and holding in place.

Transit routes that travel along 3rd Av, between Columbia St and Spring St are experiencing delays and holding in place.

May Day Update – Marchers at 4th Av and Jefferson St & Westlake Park

As of 6:17 PM, two groups of marchers are making their way through the downtown core. The group that started at Judkins Park is now walking along 4th Av and Jefferson St.  The group that started at the Seattle Center is now at Westlake Park.  Expect delays.

May Day Update – Marchers now traveling on 4th Av north of Jackson St.

As of 6:02 PM, marchers are now traveling northbound on 4th Av, north of Jackson St.  Buses are holding in place to safely allow marchers along their route. Expect delays.

May Day Update: 4th Av blocked at Pike St

As of 5:43 - May Day activities in and around downtown Seattle are changing rapidly and expected to cause traffic and transit service disruptions and delays until after the evening rush hour.

4th Av is blocked at Pike St. Routes that travel along 4Th Av, are traveling via 3rd Av between Union St  & Olive St. Use stops south of Union St & north of Stewart St to board your bus route.  Expect delays.

May Day Update: Activity from Judkins Park towards downtown

Marchers have departed from Judkins Park and are now traveling westbound along S Jackson street toward the downtown area. Buses are holding in place to allow marchers to travel safely along their route.

May Day update – Routes traveling 1st and 2nd Av experiencing delays | Pine Street Blocked between 6th Ave and 3rd Ave

Routes 10, 11, 12, 14, 43, 49, 125 & 196 are being rerouted off of Pine St & 7 Ave,  via southbound 7th Av to Union St and on to their regular routes. Use bus stops on Pine St east of 7th Av, or on Union St west of 6th Av, or your route’s regularly posted stop on 3rd Av south of Union St.

Routes traveling along 2nd Ave southbound, south of Pine Street are starting to be delayed.

May Day Update: Activity in Belltown & Judkins Park

As of 5:04 PM there were relatively small crowds of marchers headed south along 1st Av from Belltown and west onS Jackson St fromJudkinsPark under rainy skies with minor traffic and transit delays.

Pine Street Blocked between 6th Ave and 3rd Ave | No significant delays in transit service yet.

Metros Tuesday afternoon commute continues with traffic. Minor delays are being reported along 2nd Ave as the marchers make their way southbound through the downtown area.  Pine street remains blocked between 6th Ave and 3rd Ave.
