Metro’s Friday PM commute wrap-up. Plus SR 520 tolling

Metro Friday afternoon commute UPDATE

Metro’s Friday afternoon commute progresses with service delays due to heavy traffic and also a stalled bus inside the tunnel that caused other buses to be delayed as they traveled in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel. The tunnel is open and buses are operating as usual. Passengers are advised that wait times for their bus to arrive may be longer than usual.

Metro’s Friday afternoon commute is underway.  The commute starts out with no reports of major delays or disruptions in the Metro service area.

Metro’s Friday morning commute is winding down; Link light rail, Rts 8 & 36 updates.

Please note the information below about other service
impacts in Metro’s service area.

Central Link light rail is now operating between downtown Seattle and the airport.  However, the trains are not stopping at Othello Station. For service to Othello station, transfer to Metro operated Rt 97 at either Columbia City or Rainier Beach Stations.  Board Rt 97 on Martin Luther King Jr Way S adjacent to the Stations.

Rt 8 and Rt 36 have returned to their regular routes.

We will return at 3:00 PM to help keep an Eye on Your Metro Commute.

Rt 8 is reroute off of MLK between S Othello St and S Graham St

Route 8 is reroute off of Martin Luther King Jr Way S between S Othello St
and S Graham St and will operate via Rainier Av S. Use the stops south of S Othello St, north of S Graham St or along Rainier Av S.

Link Light Rail Service is interrupted between Columbia City and Rainier Beach Stations

Central Link Light Rail Service is interrupted between Columbia City and Rainier Beach Stations. Othello station is currently not being served. Expect delays.  

Southbound service is operating to Columbia City Station.  Northbound service is operating to Rainier Beach Station.  To continue north from Rainier Beach Station, please board the Metro operated Link shuttle Route 97 on Martin Luther King Jr Way S adjacent to the station.
