Metro’s Wednesday PM commute has ended; Thanksgiving weekend Transit service & event information

Metro’s Wednesday evening  commute has ended, with  area traffic congestion expected to subside over the next couple of hours.  Please be prepared, however, for possible traffic congstion and delays at any location.

Please note the following transit holiday and event information.

Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, 11/24 – Sunday service

  • If a route does not normally run on Sunday, there is no service on Thanksgiving Day.
  • Sunday fares will be in effect on Metro bus routes on Thursday.

Turkey Trot RunThursday, 11/24.

Metro operates reduced weekday & “when no UW” schedules on Friday, 11/25

  • Complete information is on Metro’s Holiday page.
  • Some entire routes are canceled & some trips on other routes are canceled.
  • Canceled routes are designated in the service notes in paper & online timetables.
  • Individual trips that are canceled due to the reduced weekday schedule are marked with an “H” in timetables.  
  • Individual trips that are canceled when the UW is not in session are marked with a “D”.
  • Most Metro Transit offices, including the Customer Information office, pass sales counters and Lost & Found will be closed on Friday.
  • Metro’s Customer Information call center at 206-553-3000 will reopen Saturday, Nov 26 at 8:00 AM.

  • There is no special service from any other P&R lots.

Metro’s Wednesday afternoon commute is progressing with  reports of ongoing heavy traffic congestion on all freeways and arterials.  Please be prepared for possible traffic congstion and delays at any location.

Previous congstion at the Seattle Fery Terminal has subsided and buses are operating normally at that location.

Traffic congestion near Seattle Ferry Terminal

Metro is receiving reports of significant traffic problems around
the Seattle Ferry Terminal; buses in that area are being delayed.
 Traffic support has been requested.

Your patience is appreciated.

White Center traffic problems are clear

A previous traffic back-up in the White Center area has cleared,
with minor delays on a few bus routes.  There were no reroutes
and service is back to normal.

there is an unknown incident in the White Center area causing delays.
