Metro’s Wednesday evening commute has ended, with area traffic congestion expected to subside over the next couple of hours. Please be prepared, however, for possible traffic congstion and delays at any location.
Please note the following transit holiday and event information.
Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, 11/24 – Sunday service
- If a route does not normally run on Sunday, there is no service on Thanksgiving Day.
- Sunday fares will be in effect on Metro bus routes on Thursday.
Turkey Trot Run – Thursday, 11/24.
Metro operates reduced weekday & “when no UW” schedules on Friday, 11/25
- Complete information is on Metro’s Holiday page.
- Some entire routes are canceled & some trips on other routes are canceled.
- Canceled routes are designated in the service notes in paper & online timetables.
- Individual trips that are canceled due to the reduced weekday schedule are marked with an “H” in timetables.
- Individual trips that are canceled when the UW is not in session are marked with a “D”.
- Most Metro Transit offices, including the Customer Information office, pass sales counters and Lost & Found will be closed on Friday.
- Metro’s Customer Information call center at 206-553-3000 will reopen Saturday, Nov 26 at 8:00 AM.
Macy’s Holiday Parade – Friday, 11/25.
- Reroutes are from the Start of service to 12:00 Noon.
- Downtown Seattle
- Affected: Transit service traveling along:
- 4th Av between Seneca St & Stewart St;
- Pine St between 9th Av & 2nd Av, &
- 5th Av between Seneca St & Pine St. - Several other routes are affected by both the Macy’s & Westlake events.
Westlake Tree Lighting – Friday, 11/25.
- 4:30 - 6:30 PM
- Downtown Seattle
- Metro routes 19, 24, 33, 252, 257, 308, & 311, and ST 510, ST 511, ST513, ST 545 & ST 554 will be affected by this event.
- Several other routes are affected by both the Macy’s & Westlake events.
Seattle 5K & Kids’ Runs – Saturday, 11/26.
Apple Cup at CenturyLink Field – Saturday, 11/26.
- Game time – 4:30 PM
- There is no free service to Husky games at CenturyLink Field.
- Special Shuttles requiring a $2.50 one way or $5.00 roundtrip cash fare are available at Northgate Transit Center, South Kirkland P&R, Eastgate P&R and Federal Way P&R.
- There is no special service from any other P&R lots.
- Use Metro’s online Trip Planner for information about getting to events & locations.
- Traffic in the SODO, Stadium, Pioneer Square & downtown Seattle areas may be congested on game days. Ride transit to the game.
Seattle Marathon – Sunday, 11/27.
- 7:00 AM-4:00 PM.
- Seattle Center & several Central Seattle neighborhoods
- Metro routes 2, 4, 7, 11, 16, 17, 26, 27, 28, 30, 49, 55, 66, 71, 72, 73 & 358, and ST 550, ST 545 and ST 554 will be affected by this event.
Seahawks at CenturyLink Field – Sunday, 11/27.
- Game time – 1:05 PM
- Metro will provide special P&R service.
- Traffic in the SODO, Stadium, Pioneer Square & downtown Seattle areas may be congested on game days. Ride transit to the game.
