Metro’s Friday PM commute wrap-up; Mariners game at 7:10 PM tonight, SR-520 full weekend closure begins at 11:00 PM tonight and other events

At 7:00 PM - Metro’s evening commute is winding down with no significant delays or disruptions in transit service to report.

The Mariners are playing at home through Sunday, 9/18
Game time 7:10 PM tonight vs. the Texas Rangers
Traffic in the SODO, Stadium, Pioneer Square & downtown Seattle areas may be congested on game days.  Ride transit to the game.

SR-520 Evergreen Point Bridge – full weekend closure

The Evergreen Point Bridge P&R on SR-520 has moved
As of 7/25/11, the Evergreen Point Bridge P&R was moved to a new temporary location and the number of parking spaces was reduced.

  • This location will be used for about two years to allow for construction
    of the Washington State Department of Transportation’s (WSDOT)Eastside Transit & HOV Project.
  • The new temporary lot is located just north of the original P&R on the north side of SR-520 at Evergreen Point Rd & NE 32nd St in Medina.
  • Capacity at the temporary lot is reduced from 50 to 19 stalls.
  • When the new P&R opens in 2013, the 50 stall capacity will be restored.

The Mt Baker Link Station elevator to & from the southbound platform is out of service.  The northbound platform elevator is operating.

  • Until repairs are made, southbound passengers who require the use of the elevator should ride instead north to Beacon Hill and transfer to a southbound train.
  • Southbound passengers who want to exit at Mt Baker should ride to Columbia City & transfer to a northbound train back to Mt Baker.

Metro’s Friday morning commute is winding down with slowdowns still occurring in the U District around 15 Av Ne & NE 45 St that may result in minor delays in transit service.

The Mariners are playing at home through Sunday, 9/18
Traffic in the SODO, Stadium, Pioneer Square & downtown Seattle areas may be congested on game days.  Ride transit to the game.

Traffic due to Komen Walk expected Friday AM

On Friday, Sept 16, 2011, expect possible traffic congestion in the
Stadium, Pioneer Square and International District areas as the Komen
Seattle 3-day walk begins at CenturyLink field.

The opening ceremonies are at 6:30 AM and walkers will start their 3-day,
60-mile walk at 7 AM through Pioneer Square and the International District
on their way east to the I-90 trail system. Related traffic should be clear by
or before 8:30 AM.

Metro’s Friday AM commute begins with Rts 72 & 73 rerouted off of 15 Av NE; Slowdowns in the U District and on Rainier Av S near S Kenny St, Komen Walk Friday AM, Mariners Friday PM, SR-520 weekend closure, plus other events that may impact service

Metro’s Friday morning commute begins with earlier incidents on 15 Av NE near NE 65 St,  slowdowns in the U District at 15 Av Ne & NE 45 St and also on Rainier Av S near S Kenny St that may result in minor delays in transit service.

Routes 72 & 73 are temporarily rerouted off of 15 Av NE between NE 65 St and NE 75 St in the northbound direction only, due to an incident. Use the stops on NE 65 St at 15 Av NE, along 12 Av NE or on NE 75 St at 15 Av NE.

The Mariners are playing at home through Sunday, 9/18
