Metro’s Tuesday PM commute wrap-up; Mariners vs. Yankees @ Century Link Field 7:10 PM tonight, SR-520 full weekend closure, plus events that may impact service

At 7:00 PM - Metro’s Tuesday evening commute is winding down with no significant delays or disruptions in transit service to report.

The Mariners are playing at home through Sunday, 9/18
Traffic in the SODO, Stadium, Pioneer Square & downtown Seattle areas may be congested on game days.  Ride transit to the game.

• Routes 15, 18, 21, 22, 56 & 132 are rerouted briefly after weekday evening, & weekend games.
• Regular fares apply.

SR-520 Evergreen Point Bridge – full weekend closure

• Friday, September 16 at 11:00 PM through Monday, September 19 at 5:00 AM.
• Routes 255, 271, 280 Night Owl & ST 545 will be reroutedvia I-90.
• Metro will provide shuttle service between the SR-520 Yarrow Point Station and Bellevue TC on Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday. The Shuttle will operate approximately every 30 minutes

The Evergreen Point Bridge P&R on SR-520 has moved
As of 7/25/11, the Evergreen Point Bridge P&R was moved to a new temporary location and the number of parking spaces was reduced.

• This location will be used for about two years to allow for construction
  of the Washington State Department of Transportation’s (WSDOT)Eastside Transit & HOV Project.
• The new temporary lot is located just north of the original P&R on the north side of SR-520 at Evergreen Point Rd & NE 32nd St in Medina.
• Capacity at the temporary lot is reduced from 50 to 19 stalls.
• When the new P&R opens in 2013, the 50 stall capacity will be restored.

The Mt Baker Link Station elevator to & from the southbound platform is out of service.  The northbound platform elevator is operating.

• Until repairs are made, southbound passengers who require the use of the elevator should ride instead north to Beacon Hill and transfer to a southbound train.
• Southbound passengers who want to exit at Mt Baker should ride to Columbia City & transfer to a northbound train back to Mt Baker.

At 5:05 PM – Route 8 has resumed service on MLK Jr Way S, in the northbound direction, between S Myrtle St and S Graham St. The incident on MLK Jr Wy just north of S Myrtle St has been cleared. Traffic congestion in the area is expected to clear up shortly.

At 3:05 PM – Route 73 has resumed regular service on 15th Av NE, in both directions, between NE Northgate Way and NE 80th St. The earlier incident blocking 15th Av NE at NE 107th St has been cleared. Traffic congestion expected to clear shortly.

Metro’s Tuesday PM commute begins with Route 73 rerouted off of 15th Av NE between NE Northgate Wy and NE 80th St; Mariners vs. Yankees @ Century Link Field 7:10 PM tonight.

At 3:00 PM – Good afternoon! Metro’s Tuesday PM commute is underway.

Metro Route 73 is currently rerouted off of 15 Av NE, in both directions between NE 80th St and NE Northgate Way. This is due to an incident blocking 15th Av NE at NE 107th St. 

During this time, Route 73 will travel via Roosevelt Way NE instead. Use posted stops on 15th Av NE north of NE Northgate Way or south of NE 80th St, or on Roosevelt Way NE between NE 80th St and NE Northgate Way.
