Metro’s Friday PM commute wrap-up, plus construction and events

Metro’s Friday afternoon commute is winding down with no significant
delays or disruptions in transit service to report.

Please note additional construction and events that may affect travel in Metro’s service area.

West Seattle Summer Festival

15th Av NE will be closed between NE 50th St & NE 45th St

S Albro Pl & Ellis Av S will be closed overnight

  • Friday, July 8, 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM
  • Routes 60, 106 & 131 will be rerouted by this closure.

Chinatown Summer Festival:

Ballard Seafood Fest:

SR-520 Bridge will be closed

Mercer Corridor Project  

  • Mercer St ramps to and from I-5 will be closed Friday night to Monday morning
  • Rts 8 & 17 will be rerouted.

Wallingford Kids Parade:

Mercer Island Summer Festival:

Redmond Derby Days:

Madison Park Kids Parade:

  • Saturday, July 9, 11:00 AM – Noon
  • Route 11 may experience some delays during this event.

Rts 19, 24, 132 & 132 have return to regular operation at

Rts 19, 24, 131 & 132 use the stops on 2 Av north of Cedar St or south of Bell St.

Metro’s Friday PM commute is continuing mostly quietly; southbound I-5 is slow from the U District & there are lots of weekend construction & events affecting King County transit & traffic

At 3:30 PM Metro’s Friday afternoon  commute is continuing with no
significant disruptions in transit service  to report.

Metro is advised that there could be delays on the southbound Alaskan Way Viaduct this afternoon, due to the exit to S Royal Brougham Way being closed.
There are also traffic delays on southbound I-5 from the University District.

-  SW Alaska St is closed between 42nd Av SW & 44th Av SW
    through Sunday night.
- All buses that serve the West Seattle Junction  
   are rerouted around the closure.

Southbound Main Av S is closed between S 4th St & Williams Av S

Routes 101, 148 & 153 are rerouted by this closure.
