Metro’s Tuesday PM Commute Wrap-Up, Plus Upcoming Events That May Impact Service

At 7:00 PM – Metro’s Tuesday evening commute is quietly winding down with no significant delays or disruptions in transit service to report.

Please note upcoming events over the next few days that may impact travel in Metro’s service area.

University District paving: Overnight Monday, May 23  through Wednesday, May 25,  from 5:30 PM-6:00 AM each night, NE 55th St will be closed in both directions between 15th Av NE & 25th Av NE.

Route 30 will be affected by this construction.

M’s next home stand is Friday, May 27 through Sunday, June 5:   Traffic in the SODO, Stadium, Pioneer Square & downtown Seattle areas may be congested on game days.

Routes 15, 18, 21, 22, 56 & 132 are affected after weekday evening, weekend & holiday games. Regular fares apply.

Memorial Day observed Monday, May 30 , 2011 : Metro operates a Sunday schedule.

Alaskan Way Viaduct and Seawall Replacement program (long-term): The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has reduced lanes on the SR-99 Alaskan Way Viaduct in both directions between the West Seattle Bridge and SODO.  For more information visit WSDOT or call the Alaskan Way Viaduct hotline at 1-888-AWV-LINE.

Long-term lane closures on SR-99 between the West Seattle Bridge & SODO:  The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has reduced lanes on the SR-99  Alaskan Way Viaduct in both directions between the West Seattle Bridge and SODO.

Plan extra time when using the Viaduct for travel to and from Summer events.

At 8:38  AM – Due to a stalled vechile on Eastbound SR-520 at the West Highrise,  delays are expected to service. Though no reroutes are in effect, delays are expected.
