Traffic in the SODO, Stadium,Pioneer Square & downtownSeattle areas may be congested on game days.
King County Metro Transit and its regional transit partners can get Ms fans to and from points near Safeco Field via transit-priority routes that are not shared by general purpose traffic – the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel (DSTT), the SODO Busway and the Link light rail corridor – making transit a great option for getting to and from games.
Fans should use regularly published schedules and expect possible delays when traffic is heavy.
Routes 15, 18, 21, 56 & 132 are rerouted off of 1st Av S in both directions between S Lander St and S Atlantic St /Edgar Martinez Dr S after weekday evening, weekend & holiday games. The rerouted buses serve all posted stops along 4th Av S while on reroute.

Lane Closures on SR-99 in both direction between West Seattle Bridge and the SODO district
Monday, May 16 at 5 a.m., the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is reducing lanes on SR 99 on the Alaskan Way Viaduct between the West Seattle Bridge and the SODO area to continue construction of new southbound lanes. This is a long-term lane closure.
Vehicles use this stretch of SR-99 each day, with the heaviest volumes during the morning and afternoon commutes. If traffic volumes in the SODO area remain at current levels, drivers can expect increased congestion and delays on SR-99 during the commute periods. Spillover traffic could also affect alternate routes, including I-5, the West Seattle Bridge and city streets.
Information to help drivers plan for the lane reduction and learn about commute alternatives is available. For more information on the Alaskan Way Viaduct and Seawall Replacement program, visit WSDOT’s website, or call the Alaskan Way Viaduct hotline at 1-888-AWV-LINE.
