Metro’s Friday PM Commute Wrap-up; Plus Upcoming Events That May Impact Transit Service

At 7:00 PM, Metro’s Friday evening commute is winding down with no significant disruptions or delays in transit service to report.

Alaskan way Viaduct Closure and Lane Reconfiguration
From Friday night, May 13 at 11 PM through Monday, May 16 at 6 AM, the Alaskan Way Viaduct will be closed for a test of the Automated Viaduct Closure System and lane reconfiguration.
King County Metro Transit is encouraging bus riders to prepare by checking Metro Online, watching media reports and signing up forTransit Alerts.

Bellevue Bus Stops Begin to Get RapidRide Makeover
On Friday, May 13, King County Metro Transit continues the renovation of many bus stops and shelters in the Bellevue area as preparation for the RapidRide B Line.

Northbound Ambaum Blvd Overnight Construction reroute for Routes 120 and ST Route 560
On Friday, May 13, from 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM, Routes 120 will be rerouted off of Ambaum Blvd SW & SW 148th St due to overnight construction.
Heading toward Seattle, Route 120 will travel instead via 4 Av SW, SW 136th St and Ambaum Blvd SW with missed stops and will serve all posted stops along the reroute.
The southbound service heading to Burien TC will not be affected.
Sound Transit Route 560 will also be rerouted, but does not make stops in the affected area.

Birth Of Buddha Parade
Saturday, May 14, 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Routes 7, 14 & 36 will be affected due to this closure.

UW Bothell 5K Walk & Run
Saturday, May 14, 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Routes 238, 251 & ST 522 will be affected due to this closure.

Sounders FC Game
Saturday, May 14, 8:00 PM at Qwest Field
There are no special shuttle service to Sounders FC games due to low demand.
Metro offers over 15 daily bus routes that stop within three blocks of Qwest Field.

Nordstrom Beat The Bridge Run
Sunday, May 15, 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Routes 30, 43, 48, 49, 65, 66, 71, 72, 73, 75 & 271 will be affected due to this closure.

Sounders FC Game on Saturday, May 14; Plus West Seattle Water Taxi Offers Extra Sailings For Sounders Fans; Plus Mariners Game on Monday, May 16

Sounders Game on Saturday, May 14, 8:00 PM at Qwest Field
There are no special shuttle service to Sounders FC games due to low demand.
Metro offers over 15 daily bus routes that stop within three blocks of Qwest Field.
Metro Transit bus service is also available throughout the area with expanded
service from Northgate, Eastgate, South Kirkland, Federal way, Renton & Kent.

West Seattle Water Taxi offers extra sailings Saturday for Sounders fans
The King County Water Taxi West Seattle-downtown Seattle route will offer extra late-evening trips on Saturday, May 14 to accommodate soccer fans returning from the Sounders FC game. The schedule for the late Saturday trips follows:

10:30 p.m. – departure from Seattle (regular trip)
10:45 p.m. – departure from Seacrest
11:00 p.m. – departure from Seattle
11:15 p.m. – departure from Seacrest

Mariners Game on, Monday, May 16, 7:10 PM at Safeco Field
Traffic in the SODO, Stadium, Pioneer Square & downtown Seattle areas may be congested on game days.

King County Metro Transit and its regional transit partners can get Ms fans to and from points near Safeco Field via transit-priority routes that are not shared by general purpose
traffic – the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel (DSTT), the SODO Busway and the Link light rail corridor – making transit a great option for getting to and from games.

Fans should use regularly published schedules and expect possible delays when traffic is heavy. Regular fares apply.

Routes 15, 18, 21, 56 & 132 are rerouted off of 1st Av S in both directions between S Lander St and S Atlantic St /Edgar Martinez Dr S after weekday evening, weekend &
holiday games. The rerouted buses serve all posted stops along 4th Av S while on reroute.

Route 155 is temporarily rerouted off of SE 176 St & 116 Ave SE

Due to a blockage, Route 155 is temporarily rerouted in both directions off of SE 176 St & 116 Ave SE.
Use stops east of 128 Ave SE on Petrovitsky Rd or west of 116 Ave SE on Se 176 St.

The Battery Street Tunnel Was Temporarily Closed At 7:17 AM

At 7:41 AM – An earlier incident occurred at the Battery Street Tunnel
that caused it to be closed temporarily, in both directions. The Tunnel has now
reopened, but delays to transit service should still be expected.
