Metro’s Thursday PM Commute Wrap-up; Plus Upcoming Events That May Impact Transit Service

At 7:04 PM, Metro’s Thursday evening commute is winding down with no significant disruptions or delays in transit service to report.

Alaskan Way Viaduct Closure and Lane Reconfiguration
From Friday night, May 13 at 11 PM through Monday, May 16 at 6 AM, the Alaskan Way Viaduct will be closed for a test of the Automated Viaduct Closure System and lane reconfiguration.

King County Metro Transit is encouraging bus riders to prepare by checking Metro Online, watching media reports and signing up for transit Alerts.

Bellevue Bus Stops Begin to Get RapidRide Makeover
On Thursday, May 12, King County Metro Transit continues the renovation
of many bus stops and shelters in the Bellevue area in preparation for
the RapidRide B Line.

Southbound Ambaum Blvd Overnight Construction reroute for Route 120
Overnight on Thursday, May 12, from 7:00 PM–5:00 AM, southbound Routes 120 will be rerouted off of Ambaum Blvd SW between & SW 146th St and SW 148th St due to construction.
Heading toward Burien, Route 120 will travel instead via SW 146th St, 4th Av SW and & SW 148th St, and will serve all posted bus stops along the reroute.
Northbound service on Ambaum will not be affected and is expected to operate normally.

We will return at 6:00 AM Friday morning to help keep an Eye on Your Metro Commute.

Upcoming Sounders FC Game & Mariners Game Update

Sounders Game on Saturday, May 14, 7:00 PM at Qwest Field
There are no special shuttle service to Sounders FC games due to low demand.
Metro offers over 15 daily bus routes that stop within three blocks of Qwest Field.
Metro Transit bus service is also available throughout the area with expanded
service from Northgate, Eastgate, South Kirkland, Federal way, Renton & Kent.

Mariners Game on, Monday, May 16, 7:10 PM at Safeco Field
Traffic in the SODO, Stadium, Pioneer Square & downtown Seattle areas may be congested on game days.

King County Metro Transit and its regional transit partners can get Ms fans to and from points near Safeco Field via transit-priority routes that are not shared by general purpose
traffic – the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel (DSTT), the SODO Busway and the Link light rail corridor – making transit a great option for getting to and from games.

Fans should use regularly published schedules and expect possible delays when traffic is heavy. Regular fares apply.

Routes 15, 18, 21, 56 & 132 are rerouted off of 1st Av S in both directions between S Lander St and S Atlantic St /Edgar Martinez Dr S after weekday evening, weekend &
holiday games. The rerouted buses serve all posted stops along 4th Av S while on reroute.

At 3:00 PM, Metro’s Thursday afternoon commute begins quietly with no significant delays or disruptions in transit service to report.

Rt 39 has returned to regular route on S Columbian Way between Beacon Ave S
and Martin Luther King Jr. Way S, from an earlier incident.

King County Water Taxi West Seattle cancelled
Service on the West Seattle Water Taxi is cancelled Thursday, May 12th, due to a mechanical problem. Metro Route 37 provides service between downtown Seattle and Alki during commute hours.
