Wednesday AM Commute Wrap-Up – Delays Continue

At 9 am - Metro’s Wednesday morning commute is winding down. In the south end, we are seeing long delays for traffic going northbound. The vehicles involved in the earlier accident are upright now and are being prepared to be towed away. The backups will continue for a while. Metro buses using the I-5 corridor are delayed by up to one hour at this time from the south.

UPDATE – I-5 At KentDesMoines NOT Open Yet – Long Delays

At 8:25 am – Metro service from the south end continues very slow. I-5 southbound is still closed and causing delays for buses starting their routes and proceeding into the downtown Seattle area. Our buses are running between 30 and 60 minutes behind schedule .  No service is being cancelled.  Northbound I-5 traffic is stop and go throughout the accident area. Thank you for you patience.

I-5 at Kent DesMoines Still Closed Southbound – Long Delays Northbound

At 7:36 am – We continue to have VERY long delays northbound on I-5 from the South end of King County. Buses will make all stops but with delays until blockage and backups are cleared. Thank you for your patience.

Wedensday AM Commute UPDATE

At 6:41 am – We are experiencing significant delays heading northbound starting at 320th and I-5 due to an earlier closure of southbound I-5 and Kent Des Moines rd. Some of our buses are delayed in getting to their starting points. Bus service will be continued but your bus may be late  to very late in picking you up if you come in from the south end.

Metro’s Wednesday AM Commute is Underway

At 6 am, Metro’s Wednesday morning commute is underway. I-5 Southbound has been blocked since 10:30 last night. Metro service is experiencing significant delays northbound due to this blockage.

Buses are picking up there customers on time but are stoped in traffic northbound. News reports inform that the I-5 Southbound will clear sometime after 7 am.
